These certifications are intended to verify that the player can handle themselves in basic combat situations around the verse. The lower ranks demonstrate the players ability to complete scenarios against NPCs in game. The higher levels will test the players ability to operate and lead a team of players in tactical situations.
The FPS (First Person Shooter) Certification is designed to certify Rescue Squad members with skills in ground combat. Similar to our Fighter Pilot Certification, candidates will undergo a series of exercises showcasing their combat abilities. The breakdown below provides an overview of each rank and the expected actions the candidate must complete to achieve that certification level.

* All certifications must be witnessed by an a Level 4+ FPS certified member or member of command.
The third rank is achieved after the candidate has successfully demonstrated their ability to breach and clear a ship in space with teammates. Opponents will be in a variety of armor sets.
* Certification Observer (L4+ or member of command) has the right to grant a pass or fail based on game bugs if they believe the applicant has overcome the task.
* Game bugs or glitches do not affect Level 6+ certification, and members must overcome all circumstances presented, intended or otherwise.
* Ranks up to Level 6 will require recertification every 180 days in order to remain. If an individual fails to re-certify, they will drop one level.
* The use and wear of the Heavy Armor uniform variant, as unlocked at L5, can be withdrawn if the Uniform Policy is not adhered to as written by the medic.
* For Level 6 certification, the individual asking to level up does not select the competitor to PVP against, officers and other L6 individuals will come together to identify the challenge.
* Points to be observed during L4 and L5 testing will be Leadership (giving orders), Communication (clear concise statements), Situational Awareness (enemy call-outs), and a Calm Mind (patience and lack of stress).
