FPS Combat Certification

These certifications are intended to verify that the player can handle themselves in basic combat situations around the verse. The lower ranks demonstrate the players ability to complete scenarios against NPCs in game. The higher levels will test the players ability to operate and lead a team of players in tactical situations.

Rank Outline

Level 1: Demonstrate basic firearms proficiency by completing a bunker mission (Provide Backup or Evict Illegal Occupants) solo with Org’s primary weapon.

Level 2: Demonstrate advanced marksmanship, shot placement and tactics by completing an “Evict Illegal Occupants” contract at a Caterpillar crash site using only a sniper rifle other than the Behring P6-LR.

Level 3: Demonstrate knowledge of heavy weapons by eliminating bunker turrets using a heavy weapon from the rear of a moving Cyclone.

Level 4: Demonstrate understanding of basic call-outs and instructions by leading and completing an Orison Platform mission with a L4+ FPS certified player, or member of command, with zero teammate fatalities.

Reaching Level 4 authorizes the member to wear the RS1 Heavy Variant Uniform according to the Uniform Policy.

Level 5: Demonstrate ability to lead others by using tactics, marksmanship, and call-out instructions by leading a team of 2-3 L3+ FPS certified players to complete an Orison Platform mission and a Hurston Derelict Outpost mission with zero teammate fatalities.

Level 6: Demonstrate PVP FPS skills and knowledge by defeating a L5+ ranked individual in 1v1 FPS combat, best out of 3 rounds.

Level 6*: A leader board is created for top five PVP FPS individuals with special rank/award given while they remain in the top five.

Rules of Certification

  • Ideally, all engagements against AI must be completed on a server with an average fps of 8 or more. This won't prevent a certification from occurring, however.
  • All certifications must be witnessed by an a Level 4+ FPS certified member or member of command.
  • Certification Observer (L4+ or member of command) has the right to grant a pass or fail based on game bugs if they believe the applicant has overcome the task.
  • Game bugs or glitches do not affect Level 6+ certification, and members must overcome all circumstances presented, intended or otherwise.
  • Ranks up to Level 6 will require recertification every 180 days in order to remain. If an individual fails to re-certify, they will drop one level.
  • The use and wear of the Heavy Armor uniform variant, as unlocked at L5, can be withdrawn if the Uniform Policy is not adhered to as written by the medic.
  • For Level 6 certification, the individual asking to level up does not select the competitor to PVP against, officers and other L6 individuals will come together to identify the challenge.
  • Points to be observed during L4 and L5 testing will be Leadership (giving orders), Communication (clear concise statements), Situational Awareness (enemy call-outs), and a Calm Mind (patience and lack of stress).

Level 6* Certification

  • Level 6* is awarded to only the top five players on the FPS PVP leader board.
  • To be placed on the leader board, an individual must be L6 and challenge someone already in the top five.
  • The winner of the challenge will gain, or hold onto, the L6* award.
  • If someone ranked L6* loses the challenge, they will have the L6* award removed, but will retain the L6 certification.
  • If the challenger loses the challenge, they will remain at L6 and have a one week cool down before being able to challenge again.
  • If you are challenged to a 1v1 you are not allowed to decline the challenge and will have to partake in the request within the next 15 days or lose automatically.
  • If you do not show up to the challenge for any reason you will lose the challenge
  • If a person takes part in a challenge, they cannot be challenged for one week after the last challenge.
  • Grenades and heavy weapons are restricted unless previously agreed upon by both combatants.

Level 4 & 5 Grading

Levels 4 and 5 are graded on a subjective rubric to gauge the abilities of the candidate. The abilities under quest are as follows:

  • Leadership
  • Communication
  • Situational Awareness
  • Calm Mind Under Fire
